About

Judi Knight

Yes, I’m a PhD Psychologist. Yes, I was a therapist. Yes, I was a CEO of a software company. Yes, I’m an artist, designer and savvy business coach. Yes, I run the Urban Oasis, an Atlanta B&B and Event Space. It’s all part of who I am today.

Here’s the story: I fell in love with the Internet and blogging with WordPress in 2005. After raising two children, running a private psychology practice, launching, building and selling a medical records software company, and then designing, marketing and selling award-winning loft residences in Intown Atlanta, I was ready for my next entrepreneurial act.  Enter — New Tricks which combined my loves psychology technology and design to make the perfect job for me.

With WordPress as my muse, I discovered the possibilities of flexible, open source web platforms.  It was a revelation and the whole digital world changed for me. This new technology along with social media, leveled the playing field for small businesses wanting to get their word out  like the big boys and,  they could do it themselves. No more static “hard shell” websites.  No more dependence on “techies,” to add and update content. Taking advantage of my love and proclivity for business coaching, New Tricks became a laboratory for empowering people to create — and maintain — smart, beautiful, effective websites that capture their “essence” in order to build their brand and grow their businesses.

After only  two short years, started in the worst economy of our lifetime, New Tricks is a walk-the-walk, talk-the-talk testament to the axiom that “it’s never too late” to take a risk to try something new, or too late to take your strengths and skills and put them together in a different business package and it’s never too late to learn new tricks that can catapult you and your business into greatness.

At New Tricks we have a special fondness for working with people who are starting new companies and building their brands, like The Indie-Pendent, Bike Tours Atlanta and Isvari Yoga.  We also love doing re-branding and digital “makeovers” for established companies like Santa Rosa Island TriathlonCandler Park Flowers, and BrandonSutton that come to us ready to harness the power of the web to strategically grow their businesses.

I’m grateful to work with such wonderful clients, and even more excited to be able to do what I love in a career that fuses together all my talents and creative passions.  And it is especially wonderful to help others do the same.  Do you have a passion and skills that  can be packaged into a product that people will pay for?  Shall we schedule an hour to talk about it?
