Packaged to Sell: Make Your Product or Service Extraordinary

Seth Godin wrote a great post today on being extraordinary using the example of the marketing of this $20.00 bottle of soap. Now why would someone buy a bottle of soap at $20.00 when you could get a similar product for $3.00?  Read his post to find out what the extra $17.00  is for. Maybe this example is a little over the top but can you find ways to apply this concept to your product or service?

Often people have an actual  $20.00 product or service that we actually sell for 3.00 because we don’t have the confidence it takes to sell our product or ourselves. If you can’t do it, no one will do it for you. Work on the packaging and the presentation. Get the confidence to put it out there.  If you find you are stumbling in this area, get some coaching. Practice this. It is really important.
